Everything HOLIDAYS in Newberry: Part 2!

We're back! And don't worry, we've got lots more details on holiday festivities in Newberry. There are so many events we had to split them in two! For part 2 of our holiday blog post, we want to make sure you know of every event possible, that way you can really soak up the holidays and enjoy the time with those you love. Because, after all, the holidays are about spending time together. Remember, you can click on each picture for more information on the event above. Here are the rest of Newberry's opportunities for you to join in on the fun:


Newberry Jaycees' Annual Christmas Parade Pick a spot on the sidewalk downtown on December 7th for the Newberry Christmas Parade! With a large variety of participants, from individuals, walking groups, large floats, the Newberry Christmas Parade is a growing tradition. Be ready for the show at 4:30pm as the procession makes its way down Main Street. Keep an eye out for Newberry Now, you may just see us there, but not how you'd expect!


Prosperity Shopper's Walk Visit downtown Prosperity on Saturday, December 7th, at 5:30pm for a unique shopping experience. First, enjoy the Christmas tree lighting at 5:30pm, and then make your way inside the Dixie Heartpine Building for pictures with Santa Claus. Meanwhile, there will be local businesses open until 8pm, along with 20 vendors, that want to make sure you get the perfect Christmas gifts that you've been searching for.


Prosperity Christmas Parade The fun keeps going in Prosperity! Come back on Sunday, December 8th, at 3pm for their Annual parade downtown. Enjoy floats, walking groups, and individual entries of all kinds! Don't forget Santa will be there, too!


Christmas Songs & Stories with John Berry Grammy winning, South Carolina native, John Berry, is coming to the Newberry Opera House on December 11th at 8pm to spread some Christmas cheer. This is his 23rd annual Christmas tour, so he's a seasoned performer who is sure to put on a great show!


The Ten Tenors Home for the Holidays Continuing the fun at the Newberry Opera House are the Ten Tenors, an Australian Vocal group that are sure to impress the crowd. They will be performing classic holiday songs in a beautiful fashion. Join them December 12th at 8pm. It will be a show you won't want to miss!


Whitmire Jaycees' Annual Christmas Parade Visit downtown Whitmire to celebrate Christmas with their annual parade on December 14th! And, even better, if you want to participate you're more than welcome! Line-up starts at 12pm and the parade then starts at 1pm. If you want to show holiday spirit, show up downtown and join the fun! There will be floats, walking groups, and so much more!


Dirty Santa Games Talk about a different way to celebrate Christmas! Bear Arms Crossfit hosts their in-house crossfit competition on December 14th at 8:30am. It's like a gift exchange, but with a crazy twist that involves a really great workout! Work off some of those holiday calories! We know we definitely need to.


Tour of Homes Let the Newberry County Chamber of Commerce take you on a tour on December 14th at 4pm to see three elegant homes in downtown Newberry that are beautifully decorated for the holidays. Then, tour St. Luke's Episcopal Church for a gorgeous display of Christmas decor. Afterwards, enjoy a wine and cheese reception and see the newly restored Old Newberry Hotel.



The Nutcracker Dance Alive National Ballet is bringing a classic to the Newberry Opera House for the holiday season on December 16th at 4pm. The whole family will love the Nutcracker Prince and all his friends, especially the Sugar Plum Fairy. For an enhanced experience, you can have tea and treats with the Sugar Plum Fairy at 2pm before the performance. It's a really cool opportunity for kids and adults alike!
